To know me is to know i love a good NTM (next top model). I've been watching many of the bigger english speaking versions for years now and honestly, bias aside, i think the Australian version is by far the best - the challenges are better, the host isn't a narcisstic psycho and the girls actually dress like working stylish models.
Taking it a bit too seriously? nooo.

I just finished watching 'Week 4' - swimsuit ep. & I want to get this down on virtual paper so i can look back later with (hopefully) a big 'I Told You So!':

new old camera

My latest Ebay win - an Olympus OM10 with a 50mm f1.8 Zuiko Lens. I have no idea what that really means but that's exactly what I intend on learning. And get this - included fresh batteries and (possibly) [i can't tell yet!] film and it came the next day - Love that. I've downloaded myself a copy of the old manual, circa 1972 so I'm set for a weekend of happy snaps and undoubtably clumsy results. Stay tuned for a sample of the first roll - will most probably be a bit shit but I'm learning so be kind.

dear Timba, do you need an intern?

Sad news today - well great news if you're not stuck in dreary London where nothing creative/cool/fun ever happens (slight overreaction?). Semi-Permanent have announced Timba will be speaking at this years event… and, I won't be seated at this years event. Boo. Either way it reminded me of the guy's work and I proceeded to stalk - hence this post. So let me share:

Wooden Toy magazine - easily one of the most 'designed' and most inspirational magazines around. If you can/have had your hands on a copy you'll agree. I'm eagerly awaiting the 'Music' edition to add to my collection.

new shoes, old boots

Shoes should be new. And boots should be old. Always old. Well, not old as in big toe poking out a comical hole in the front and smell that'd make homeless people shy but old looking. Weathered and/or distressed as fashion folk would declare. I was recently asked how long it took for me to 'wear in' my boots. I looked down realizing the kicks that had started off reminding me of the first days of school donning my clarks now had been transformed into the well loved, well used pair i now wear with pride. Boots should always be old (looking) and shoes always new, new, New!
